Antivirus Program
You must have at least one antivirus and/or "anti-spyware" program installed in your computer against spyware in order to be able to use the Internet in a secure manner. You should regularly update the virus definitions in this program and scan your entire system for viruses at least once a week. Virus scans are very important in catching the spyware that could infect your PC.

Personal Firewall Program
Personal Firewall programs have the ability to control the network traffic aimed at your computer. Thanks to such monitoring, you can prevent virus/trojans/spyware originating from the Internet that could harm your PC from infecting it.

E-mail Security
Do not open e-mails coming from unfamiliar people (especially those with attached files); do not ever answer e-mails that appear to have come from your bank that request your password / user name / financial data / account number / credit card or ATM card numbers or those that request you to update your personal information. We remind you that as your bank, we shall never request information updates or password procedures through e-mails. You may assist us to protect our customers against acts of fraud by not opening address extensions included in these types of fraudulent e-mails, not filling in the required information and by notifying us urgently about the issue.

Operating System
Windows is the operating system with the most widespread use in the market. No matter which operating system you may use, just as with antivirus programs, operating systems must also be updated (in order to eliminate security gaps discovered later). Please be sure to carry out these updates promptly.

Physical Security of Your Computer
The security of the PC you use for Internet banking is very important. You must not leave your PC unattended while using Internet banking; if others use your PC, you must be sure that these people pay the utmost attention to security.

Password Usage
When creating your Internet banking password, you must not use numbers that are easy to guess such as your birth date, and you must regularly change your password for your own security. You must also be sure that this password is not the same as your other banking passwords. You must not note your password and user name in your PC or anywhere else in the physical environment, you must not carry them in your wallet, share them with anyone else and remember that your bank recognizes you with this password and user name.

Smart Key / Smart GMS Usage – Single Use Password Technology
Use Internet banking with the support of Smart Key/Smart GSM/Smart SMS. The Smart Key/Smart GSM/Smart SMS – "Single Use Password Technology", a service that provides double layered security for Internet banking users, is offered for the first time in Turkey by our bank. With this technology you may create a single use password of eight digits for each usage specific to you. This one-off password can be used neither by you nor by other users again.

Products of Single Use Password Technology, Smart Key, Smart GSM, Smart SMS are free of charge for our ‘Limitless Banking’ member customers.

E-Keyboard Against Common Threats Such As Phishing and Spyware
The most common security threats for Internet banking customers originate from password and information updating requests coming with fraudulent e-mails and spyware that are installed on their computers before the user notices it. Some of these programs, i.e. ‘keyloggers' have the ability to record every movement of the keyboard and subsequently transmit it to the spy user.

Making it obligatory to use the E-Keyboard for Internet banking is a measure that we took in order to provide more effective protection against these common threats. These threats have come down to controllable levels with user awareness in the subject of e-mail security and the help of antivirus / personal Firewall programs.

Customizable Security Settings
Our Internet banking services include a section on customizable security settings. You may define these settings in accordance with your own requirements and if you wish you may close your accounts to money transfer transactions, or you may limit the places (i.e. your PC at home) or the times (i.e. only in the evenings) when you perform Internet banking transactions. You may access all these applications in the ‘Security Settings’ menu.
